Scarleteen…

sex%20ed%20play“We offer Scarleteen as a better and more inclusive resource for sex information for teens than adult sexuality sites, as well as a supplement to in-home and school-based sex education. Many parents, guardians and educators have used it as a tool to initiate discussion with their teens on some of the topics addressed. Some homeschooling parents have used Scarleteen as curricula for sex education; colleges add our articles to their sexuality syllabi often. We encourage you to do the same: we think the best sex education anyone can have is not only comprehensive and accurate, but is a diverse, well-rounded education that comes from more than but one source or perspective. Ideally, we’d love to see Scarleteen as a part — not a sum — of a diverse sexuality education that comes from other places as well, such as through school sex education and discussions with parents or guardians.”  Read More

But when Sturgis – an honor student, trumpet player and goalie on the school’s soccer team – wanted her senior photograph in a tuxedo used in the 2009-10 yearbook, school officials balked.”  Full Story

The trans-inclusive ENDA introduced last week is the first one of its kind.  And from a first-term senator, no less.  Way to go, Merkley!

Here’s an online petition you can use to let your senator know you agree with equal rights for transfolk:

Rush Limbaugh continues to be a fucking dumbass (as if we ever thought otherwise)

He continues to have mouth diarrhea all over issues relating to sexism, racism, and fairness in general.  He keep spouting off this nonsense about Sonia Sotomayor and Obama being racists, and how the days of white/male privelege are over.  Well, they aren’t exactly over (obviously, since he’s still on the air), but we’re getting closer.  So pull your panties out of your ass, Rush, and get the fuck over yourself. Your dick ain’t worth SHIT.

What a fuckwad.

Parents keep child’s gender secret

That windswept gender-neutral look

That windswept gender-neutral look

THIS, I love… the child is 2 and only the immediate family know the child’s biological sex.  The family says their decision is based on the concept that gender is a social construct (duh) and that the child’s physical body shouldn’t be relevent in its upbringing.

I wonder how long it will last. . .
